Shelly Headen began her career in public accounting at McGladrey and Pullen (now RSM). From there she went into corporate accounting roles where she grew her finance and accounting knowledge from a corporate perspective. In 2004, Shelly made the personal decision to step back from her corporate career in order to spend more time with her three children. She continued to work part-time for her husband, but in 2012 decided to join Banyan Search as a Contract Recruiter. Since that time, she has developed wonderful candidate relationships, and has successfully placed individuals in both direct hire and contract roles. Shelly's drive for success and her tenacity are key reasons why she so successfully works with the people she represents. Her knowledge of finance and accounting plays an integral part of her success in placing job seekers in the right role.
Shelly has served as Treasurer for the PTSA at her children's school, coached recreational cheerleading teams, and led many fundraising events to benefit school programs. She also volunteers time in the community assisting unemployed individuals with resume preparation.
Shelly graduated from Appalachian State University, and is an inactive CPA in the State of NC. She and her husband, Greg, have three beautiful daughters that are very active in sporting, dance and academic activities. Shelly is proud to call Greensboro home, but she is a Mountaineer through and through. Her primary hobby is taxi driving, but she is known to also play the piano or enjoy a good book when she has time.
